GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood baseball team (7-9, 2-2 MIAA) lost game one of the weekend series to Emporia State (4-6, 2-2 MIAA) by a 13-4 final on Thursday in Emporia, Kan.

Emporia State scored the first runs of the game in the bottom of the second inning with a pair of runs on one hit and one error. The Lions responded in the top of the third as
Mitchell Krebs led off the inning with a walk, and scored on a triple to right center by
DJ Miller. Revetta drove in Miller on the next at bat to tie the game at 2-2. The Hornets quickly regained the lead in the bottom of the inning with three runs on one hit.

Ryan Venne opened up the fourth inning with a double and later scored to make it a 5-3 ballgame. The Hornets got the run back in the next half inning to build its lead back up to three. The Lions struggled in the bottom of the sixth inning as they allowed five runs on three hits to fall behind 11-3. Miller hit a double in the top of the seventh and was driven in on a double by
Neil Fischer for the final run of the game for Lindenwood. Emporia State added a pair of runs in the bottom half, eventually closing out the 13-4 win over Lindenwood in game one.
