GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood women's hockey team (6-18-2, 2-11-1 CHA) lost 4-3 to RIT (10-14-4, 5-8-0 CHA) in a wild ending on Saturday afternoon at Lindenwood Ice Arena in Wentzville, Mo.

The Lions played hard all game, but the Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the first period, including a goal in the first two minutes of the game. Lindenwood bounced back after the first intermission as
Nicole Guagliardo crashed the net and put the rebound in to make it a 2-1 game at the 3:30 mark of the second. The Lions continued to fight and tied the game at the 13:48 mark of the second period after
Nikki Friesen scored her fourth of the season. Lindenwood outshot RIT in the second period by an 18-6 margin.

RIT regained the lead late in the third period on a break down the right side to make it 3-2 with less than five minutes to go in the game. Just 28 seconds later,
Shannon Morris-Reade tied the game at 3-3 with a hard wrist shot in the middle of the zone. RIT responded with a goal less than two minutes later, again, to take the lead. The Lions had a couple of chances late with the extra attacker, but the Tigers held on for the 4-3 win over Lindenwood.
The Lions honored breast cancer survivor, Helen Guagliardo who is the mother of Nicole. Helen dropped the puck prior to the game as part of Pink the Rink weekend to help support breast cancer awareness.
