GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood baseball team (8-14) was unable to complete a comeback against Missouri-St. Louis (2-12) at the Lions lost 13-11.  Neil Fischer had a great day at the plate and was a single away from hitting for the cycle.

The game did not get off a great start for the Lions as they allowed three runs on two hits and one error in the first inning.  Fischer cut the deficit to one after he pounded the ball over the right field wall for the two-run home run.  The Tritons continued to score runs as they put up a pair in the second inning, one in the third, and another in the top of the fifth to take a 7-2 lead.

Alex Gauspohl was able to get one run back in the bottom of the fifth as he drew a walk, stole second, and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Mitchell Krebs.  Missouri-St. Louis again scored two run in the top of the sixth, but the Lions hung around.  Gauspohl hit an RBI single in the bottom of the inning, and Krebs earned an RBI after being hit by a pitch to make it an 8-5 ballgame.  The Tritons put up four more runs in the top of the seventh to make it a steep slope for the Lions to climb.

Fischer led off the seventh inning with a triple to left center and scored on a double by Kyle Stevens on the next pitch.  Kolby Schulte hit a fly ball to right field that was misplayed by the right fielder, allowing Schulte to score, making it a 13-7 game after the eighth inning.

Fischer led off the bottom of the ninth with a double to left center and later scored on a wild pitch.  Lindenwood loaded the bases a few batters later and scored another run on a wild pitch, making it a four-run game.  JP Schneider put the ball in play to bring in a run and make it a 13-10 game with no outs.  Gauspohl followed suit with an RBI of his own on another fielding error by the Tritons.  Lindenwood had a chance with bases load and the tying run on second base, but failed to complete the comeback in a 13-11 loss.
