No. 10 Men’s Lacrosse Suffers Season’s First Home Loss

The No. 10 Lindenwood men's lacrosse team dropped its first home contest of the season on Saturday afternoon from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. The Lions were defeated by No. 18 Saint Leo by a final score of 16-8.

GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood and Saint Leo alternated the first five goals of the afternoon on Saturday, with the home team scoring three times to take an early 3-2 lead. Carter Collins, Leonard Jones, and Sean Darroch were the first-quarter goal scorers for Lindenwood. Saint Leo scored the final four goals of the opening quarter and carried a 6-3 edge into the second period.

Lindenwood outscored the visiting Lions by a 3-2 margin throughout the second frame, and entered halftime trailing Saint Leo 8-6. Jake Campbell netted his first goal of the season for Lindenwood in the second quarter.

Saint Leo took control of the game over the final two quarters, outscoring Lindenwood by an 8-2 margin over the final 30 minutes of play. Saint Leo won nine of the 10 second-half faceoffs as it put the game out of reach for Lindenwood.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Three different Lions finished the game with two goals apiece, as Colin Domek, Collins, and Jones all finished with two scores.
- Domek paced Lindenwood with four total points as he also dished out two assists.
- Jordan Nalls and Jones each caused two turnovers for the Lions.
- Collins led the team with five ground balls, one ahead of Bryan Bevelhimer who finished the afternoon with four ground balls.
- Connor Ciemiewicz made eight saves in goal for the Lions.

Lindenwood will return to action on Tuesday evening for a 6:00 p.m. matchup with Adams State from Hunter Stadium.
