Galka Strikes Out 11 in Sweep of Fort Hays State

GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood softball junior Stormee Galka had 11 strikeouts in a doubleheader sweep of Fort Hays State. The Lions took game one 4-2 and game two 1-0. Galka picked up the start in game two, picking up her 11 strikeouts over seven innings pitched. It matches the second-highest single game strikeout total in a single game in Lindenwood NCAA history and the second-best performance in the MIAA this season.  The wins move Lindenwood to 14-10 overall and 5-7 in MIAA games. Only five teams in the MIAA have recorded five conference wins so far this season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Stormee Galka led off for the Lions in game one, going 3-4 with a triple and two runs scored.
- Freshman Taylor Bushman stayed hot with a 2-4 showing including a double, a run and an RBI. 
- The Lions were active on the basepaths in game one with Galka, Bushman and Courtney Klosinski each stealing a base.
- Marina Esparza threw the complete game, allowing five hits, two earned runs, one walk and three strikeouts.

- In game two, Galka again lead off, going 2-3 with a run scored.
- Klosinski had the Lions other hit, going 1-3 with a double.
- Galka threw a complete game in the circle, allowing three hits and one walk in the seven-inning shutout.
- Her 11 strikeouts are the first double-digit strikeout total for the Lions since April 11, 2015 (Kendall Ryndak, 10 strikeouts vs. Lincoln).
