No. 15 Men's Lacrosse Scores Early in 12-9 Victory

The No. 15 Lindenwood men's lacrosse team held on for a 12-9 win over Westminster on Friday afternoon at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.

GAME OVERVIEW
The visiting Griffons scored the first two goals of the game in the opening 3:14 on the first quarter.  The Lions responded with four-straight goals, and held a 4-3 lead at the end of the opening quarter.  Lindenwood continued the scoring to start the second frame, as Leonard Jones tallied his second goal of the game to give the Lions a four-goal lead with 13:08 remaining in the half.  The Lions held a 9-5 lead at halftime, as a fluke play in the final seconds of the first half nearly resulted in a Lindenwood goal.

The scoring was scarce in the third quarter with each team scoring once.  Ethan Noel netted his first goal of the game at the 10:28 mark of the third quarter, and scored the next goal that came at the 10:53 mark of the fourth quarter.  Colin Domek scored the final goal for the Lions with 8:05 to go in the game, as that goal was his second of the contest.

Westminster pulled within four goals with three minutes to go in the game.  The Griffons took advantage of a few penalties on the Lions, but it was too little too late in the 12-9 win for Lindenwood.
