Baseball Ends Season in MIAA Tournament

GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood baseball team (28-25) lost to Missouri Southern (34-18) by a 7-2 final in the MIAA Tournament on Saturday in Pittsburg, Kan.

Missouri Southern took an early 1-0 lead in the second inning and added another in the top of the third.  Lindenwood struggled to get runners on early, but after Missouri Southern took a 3-0 lead in the top of the fifth, the Lions found some success.  The Lions did not get a run across the plate, but leaving two runners on base in the fifth and two more in the sixth gave Lindenwood hope.

Lindenwood surrendered four runs in the top of the seventh to make the climb that much tougher in a 7-0 game with just three innings to go.  The Lions did not give up, as Mitchell Krebs drove in the first run in the bottom of the seventh with an RBI single back to the pitcher.  Kyle Stevens drove in another run with two outs later in the inning to make it a 7-2 game.  The Lions could not find any more offensive production to make up for the deficit.

GAME LEADERS
