GAME OVERVIEW
The Lindenwood baseball team (27-22, 18-14 MIAA) powered its way past Missouri Southern (31-17, 22-10 MIAA) with a 12-2 victory on Saturday at Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.

DJ Miller put the Lions on top early after a two-RBI single to right field making it 2-0 after the first inning. For the second-straight day, the Lions had strong support from the starting pitcher. Â
Blake Beckmann went seven innings, tallied five strikeouts, and allowed just two runs on five hits. Missouri Southern scored its only two runs of the game on a home run with two outs in the top of the fifth.

Lindenwood responded in a powerful way in the bottom of the sixth inning to regain its lead. With two outs,
Kyle Stevens started a rally with a double to left center on an 0-2 count.Â
Neil Fischer followed with a double down the left field line to bring in Stevens, and scored on a double by
Bryce Beckmann in the next at bat.Â
Ryan Sosnowski drove in Beckmann on a double to left center, and
Ryan Venne hit the fifth-consecutive double in the inning to make it 6-2.

Miller hit a two-out triple in the bottom of the seventh, and scored on a single up the middle by Stevens to extend the lead. The Lions continued to pour on the runs in the eighth inning, as
Mitchell Krebs brought in two runs on a single. Krebs scored later in the inning, and Stevens ended the game with a two-RBI single to left center, giving the Lions the 12-2 victory in the eighth inning.
