Women's Hockey Alum Kendra Broad to Play in NWHL

Former Lindenwood women's hockey player Kendra Broad signed a contract with the Connecticut Whale in the National Women's Hockey League.

Broad stepped on campus at the start of the 2011-12 season, and finished her third season with the Lions in 2013-14.  She was a versatile forward who was named assistant captain in her final season in a Lindenwood uniform.  The Petrolia, Ontario native led the Lions in scoring during the 2013-14 season with nine goals, 11 assists, and 20 points.  Her 51 career points, 24 career goals, and 27 career assists each stand fifth in program history.   Broad had seven power play goals and three game winners in her three-year career with the Lions.

After Lindenwood, Broad returned home to play two seasons at Western Ontario.  Broad has spent the previous three seasons playing in Europe.  The Lambton Central product played 34 games for Sundsvall/Timra of the SDHL, before playing two seasons with the NE Hockey Academy in the SWHL.  Broad will be the second Lindenwood alum to play in the NWHL, as Nicole Hensley played this past season with the Buffalo Beauts.
