Erik Henneman Earns National Recognition

Lindenwood football standout Erik Henneman was recently named to the 2019 College Football America Yearbook Division II Preseason Starting Lineup.  Henneman earned first-team All-American honors by three different platforms (AFCA, CCA, and D2Football.com) in 2018.

The 6-3 junior broke the school record for touchdown catches in a game with four against Missouri Southern in the second game of the year.  The four touchdown catches broke a 22-year old school record of three touchdown receptions in a game.  Henneman went off again in week four as he hauled in a season-high nine catches with a season-high 147 yards.  The Gretna, La. native added two touchdowns to help the Lions to their first win over Emporia State in program history.  In the final game of the season, the West Jefferson High product made a crucial catch on fourth down on the final drive that led to the game-winning score.

Henneman closed out the season with 639 yards on 57 receptions for a total of nine touchdowns.  He ranked 11th in the MIAA in receiving yardage and was tied for third in the league in touchdown catches.  Henneman also ranks in the top-50 in Division II for touchdown catches and receptions per game.  Henneman will look to repeat as first-team All-American in 2019, as he would be the only other Lion to do so in the NCAA-era since Connor Harris in 2015 and 2016.

Lindenwood will open the season in Cheney, Wash. to take on 2018 NCAA Division I FCS runner-up Eastern Washington University on Saturday, September 7.
