GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood field hockey traded goals with Limestone for 70 minutes, before
Pauline Terwindt fired a blistering shot past the Limestone keeper in the 72nd minute to capture the victory for the Lions. The game-winner was Terwindts' lone shot of the game. The win moves the Lions to 3-1 overall.
Limestone opened the game with a goal in the first quarter, but Lindenwood responded in the second.
Bridget Hoogendijk fired two shots at the Limestone cage, and
Lauren Roberts collected the second rebound to push past the Limestone defense to equalize at 1-1.
In the third, Hoogendijk streaked down the field to create a two-on-one opportunity. She rifled a pass to a waiting
Megan Martin, who finished just off the left post to give the Lions a 2-1 lead. Later in the third, Limestone tallied its second goal of the game to bring the score to 2-2.
Neither team could score in the first overtime. However, in the second overtime, Terwindt worked her way to the top of the circle, beating her defender, and ripped a shot past the Limestone goalie to solidify the win for Lions.

NOTABLE
- Bridgette Hoogendijk was the instigator in two of the Lions's goals. She led the Lions with five shots in the game and had an assist, her second of the season.

Lauren Roberts' goal was her second of the season. She and Hoogendijk are tied for the team lead in goals scored this season.

Pauline Terwindt each scored their first goals of the season.
- The Limestone contest was the Lions' second double overtime game this season. They fell to Adelphi in double OT last weekend.
- In goal,
Mackenzie Litterst played the entire contest, recording 11 saves.
- Through three quarters, the Lions trailed in shots six to 12. However in the fourth quarter and overtime, Lindenwood out-shot the Saints 10 to seven.

The Lions travel to Frostburg, Maryland for a pair of contests. Lindenwood takes on Mansfield on Sept. 28 at 10 a.m. (CT). They then play Frostburg State on the road Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. (CT).
