Hutcheson Scores in 1-1 Tie for Men's Soccer

The Lindenwood men's soccer team took on Illinois Springfield on Friday, ending in a 1-1 tie in Springfield, Ill.  The Lions moved to 2-1-1 on the year and 1-0-1 in the GLVC.
 
MATCH OVERVIEW
The Lions struck early, with a goal by Thomas Hutcheson in the seventh minute of the game.  Hutcheson netted his second goal of the season in the lower left part of the goal to put the Lions ahead 1-0.
 
Illinois Springfield poured on the shots in the first half, compiling 12 for the first 45 minutes.  Tim Licht made five stops in the opening half to keep it a 1-0 lead for the Lions.
 
The Prairie Stars continued to put pressure on in the offensive zone, and it payed off in the 63rd minutes.  Illinois Springfield netted the game-tying goal near the halfway mark of the second half, making it a 1-1 game.
 
The first overtime was quiet, but each team tallied three shots in the second overtime leading to quality chances.  The game ended in a 1-1 tie in the first overtime game of the year for Lindenwood.

-Thomas Hutcheson scored his 21st career goal on Friday.
-Tim Licht made six saves, doubling his season total.
-Lindenwood faced 26 shots, including seven on goal.
-The Lions allowed 14 corner kicks, while taking just two.
-Andrei Ciot tallied one shot on goal.

Lindenwood will return to Hunter Stadium on Sunday to take on Lewis at 2:30 p.m. in St. Charles, Mo.
