The Lindenwood men's basketball team suffered its second consecutive defeat on Saturday afternoon, dropping an 83-62 decision to the Drury Panthers from Springfield, Mo. The loss moves Lindenwood's record to 8-5 on the season and 2-3 inside the GLVC.
GAME OVERVIEW
Drury wasted little time taking control of the game, jumping out to an early 7-2 lead over the first 3:32 of play. The Panthers never looked back, maintaining their lead for the entirety of the first half, which ended with the home team up by a 42-23 score.
Lindenwood struggled to make shots throughout the first 20 minutes of play, shooting just 32.1 percent (9-of-28) from the field. On the other end of the court, Drury hit on 57.7 percent (15-of-26) of its field-goal attempts.
Lindenwood improved its shooting in the second half, but the results on the scoreboard brought much of the same as the previous half. The Lions connected on 15-of-34 from the field (44.1 percent) in the final period, but they were unable to get within striking distance of the Panthers, who won by a final score of 83-62.

QUOTABLE
Head coach Kyle Gerdeman
"Give Drury a lot of credit tonight," said Gerdeman. "They came at us from the jump ball and took it to us on both ends of the floor. They needed a win, and played like it. I thought we did some better things offensively in the second half, but obviously not enough. We never put together enough stops to give ourselves a chance to climb back in the game, and Drury gets a lot of credit for that."
