Women's Hockey Takes on Robert Morris this Weekend

The Lindenwood women's hockey team (4-14-3, 2-8-0 CHA) will look to continue its winning streak this weekend, as the Lions take on Robert Morris (13-9-2, 7-3-0 CHA) in a two-game series starting on Friday at 3:05 p.m. (2:05 p.m. central) in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The Lions are coming off back-to-back shutouts over RIT last weekend, as Annika Asplundh made 64 saves over the two-game span.  Asplundh earned CHA Goalie of the Week honors, and was recognized as the NCAA Women's Hockey Second Star of the Week.  Sierra Burt was named CHA Player of the Week after netting one goal and dishing out one assist in each of the two games this past weekend.  Burt ranks second on the team with 10 points, while standing in a tie for the top spot with seven assists.

Megan Wagner is leading the squad with her four goals and seven assists for a total of 11 points.  Asplundh brought her goals against average down to 2.74 for the season, while posting a .925 save percentage.

Lindenwood and Robert Morris will faceoff for the 41st and 42nd times in the series history, dating back to 2011.  The Colonials hold the series advantage 29-8-3, including two wins this season.  The Lions and Colonials split the season series last year, as the Lions won 6-1 in the final meeting of 2018-19 for a 1-1-2 record.  The two teams have gone to overtime in nine different games, resulting in a 2-4-3 record for the Lions.  In the last six meetings, five games have been decided by two goals or less.  The two teams have each scored 13 goals in that same six-game span.
