The Lindenwood men's basketball team dropped the first game of its two-game road stretch, 71-62, to the Lewis Flyers. The team's record sinks under .500 to 8-9, including a 2-7 mark in the GLVC, where they have now lost six games in a row.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions kept it close in the first half against the Flyers, as the two teams went into halftime with Lewis up, 33-29. Lindenwood shot 37.9 percent from the field in the first half, including hitting 5-12 shots from beyond three, and making two of four free throws. The Lions outrebounded the Flyers in the first half, 19-16, while bringing in three more offensive boards. The two teams traded the lead seven times in the half.
The second half saw the Flyers pull away, as the Lions were outscored 38-33 in the half. The Lions shot 37.9 percent from the field for the second straight half, but hit on just 3-13 threes in the half. Lindenwood went eight for nine from the free throw line, shooting six more free throws than the Flyers did in the second half. After a strong second half of offense, Lewis finished the game shooting over 50 percent from the field.
Lindenwood will look to halt its six-game losing streak against Illinois Springfield on Saturday.

- Luka Radosevic led the Lions with a career-high 23 points. Radosevic's previous career-high for points was 14, which came against Southwest Baptist on Jan. 9.
- Radosevic shot 2-3 from the three point line, while hitting on a career-high shots from the field.
- Cameron Scales brought in a team-high seven boards, tying his previous career-high of seven, which came against Avila on Dec. 18.
- TJ Crockett finished with three assists, which was the highest assist total of any Lions player in the game.
- Crockett also blocked two shots, tying a previous career-high, which came against UIndy on Jan. 17.
- Jalen Newsom recorded a career-high two steals against the Flyers, doubling his previous career-high of one steal.

"It was a hard fought loss tonight, but we have to hang in there and prepare for the next game," said Head Coach
Kyle Gerdeman. "It was great to see Luka have a good game and give us a post scoring option. We have to move on quickly to Springfield, and just continue to learn from our mistakes."

Lindenwood will finish off its two-game road swing at Illinois Springfield on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 3:00 p.m., before returning home to face McKendree on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 7:30 p.m.
