The Lindenwood women's hockey team (2-12-3, 0-6-0 CHA) will return to the ice for the first time in the 2020 calendar year, as the Lions take on Penn State (7-9-4, 2-3-1 CHA) in a two-game series starting on Friday at 6:00 p.m. (5:00 p.m. central) in University Park, Pa.

Lindenwood has not played a game in over a month, when the Lions concluded a two-game series with Syracuse on December 7, 2019.  The Lions are looking to notch their first win since October 18, 2019, earning a 3-1 victory over Union College.

Megan Wagner is the team leader with six points, after tallying three goals and three assists in the first half of the season.  Maddison Stitt is tied for the team-high in goals with three, while Sierra Burt, Meara Ryan, Courtney Ganske, and Kirsten Martin have each pitched in three assists.

In the last two seasons, Lindenwood has won its first game after the start of the new calendar year.  The Lions will look to earn their first conference victory of the season this weekend.

The Lions are 11-16-4 against the Nittany Lions since the two teams began play in 2012.  Lindenwood is looking for its first win over Penn State since February 23, 2018 in University Park, Pa.

Last season, the Lions went 0-3-1 against Penn State as the final meeting was a 3-3 tie in Wentzville, Mo.  Since February 23, 2019 the Lions and Nittany Lions have had four out of the seven games decided by one goal or less.

Lindenwood will host Penn State on February 21-22, 2020 to close out the season series.
