The Lindenwood women's basketball team (3-3, 3-3 GLVC) fell to Missouri-St. Louis (2-2, 2-2 GLVC), 68-51, on the road on Friday.
Julia Ruzevich scored a team-best 23 points in Friday's game, for her fourth 20-point effort of the campaign. J. Ruzevich also added seven rebounds, two assists, and a steal for the squad.
As a team, the Lions shot 16-51 (.314) from the field, and 5-21 (.238) from the three point line. Lindenwood outshot Missouri-St. Louis from the free throw line, 14-12. The Lions did not lead at any point in the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the first quarter, the Lions trailed, 18-16. Lindenwood outrebounded Missouri-St. Louis, 12-11, in the opening period.
- The Lions got to the charity stripe 12 times in the first quarter, converting on nine of the attempts.
- Between the second and third periods, the Lions were outscored by the Tritons, 41-19.
- Entering halftime, the team trailed, 34-24. The third quarter was dominated by the Tritons, as they put up 25 points to Lindenwood's 11.
- The fourth quarter saw Lindenwood shoot 3-7 on three-pointers, as they outscored Missouri-St. Louis, 16-9.
- The game against the Tritons was the lowest-scoring output of the season thus far for the Lions.
BOX SCORE LEADERS
- J. Ruzevich was the team's leader with 23 points. Devin Fuhring and Hennessey Handy both added 11 points.
- J. Ruzevich also led the team with seven rebounds, two of which were on the offensive end.
- Grace Neff dished out a team-high three assists.
- Fuhring and Handy each recorded two steals.
- Nicole Hernandez had the sole blocked shot of the night for Lindenwood.
