GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood put pressure on the Colonials from the opening faceoff, generating seven shots on goal in the first five minutes of play. It would be Robert Morris getting on the board first however, with a goal at the 7:12 mark of the first period.  It didn't take long for the Colonials to strike again, as just three minutes later, they put a second tally on the board.  The Lions had 12 shots on goal during the opening frame but found themselves trailing 2-0 at the first intermission.

Both teams made some adjustments during the break, seeing no goals for either team during the period. The defense picked up for Lindenwood as they killed all three power-play opportunities for the Colonials and blocked 13 shots. The Lions were unable to generate much offensively, registering only nine shots on goal in the second 20 minutes of play.

Lindenwood cut the two-goal deficit in half less than a minute into the final frame when Hannah Alt put one into the back of the net.  The Lions continued to put on the pressure, which led to a powerplay opportunity for Lindenwood, on the man advantage, Sierra Burt tied the game 2-2 with a goal at the 4:29 mark of the third period. Jane Jacobs and Maddison Stitt picked up assists on the equalizer.

Lindenwood continued to create chances throughout the period, but the Colonials kept fighting and earned a powerplay opportunity late in the period, and were able to capitalize on the man advantage, giving them a 3-2 lead with just three minutes to go in the game. Robert Morris would add a late empty-netter and earn the 4-2 victory.
