The Lindenwood women's hockey team (5-21-3, 3-13-0 CHA) will honor its senior class this weekend as the Lions host Penn State (10-13-7, 5-7-4 CHA) in a two-game series. Game one is set to start at 7:10 p.m. on Friday night, while game two is slates to begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, Mo.
Lindenwood will recognize
Courtney Ganske,
Lillian Marchant,
Kirsten Martin,
Erin Near, and
Cierra Paisley on Saturday as part of its senior day festivities. The have won three out of their last four games at Centene Community Ice Center, and will look to send its senior class out with a successful home weekend.
Sierra Burt has taken the team lead in goals (6), assists (9), and points (15) after this past weekend.
Megan Wagner is the only other Lion with double-digit points this season with 12.
Annika Asplundh is posting a .922 save percentage and a 2.87 goals against average in her 23 games played between the pipes.
Penn State is looking for its first win since January 24 in a 1-0 victory over Syracuse. The Nittany Lions are 0-4-1 since that win, including back-to-back losses to RIT this past weekend.
The Lions are 11-18-4 against Penn State since the two teams began play in 2012. Lindenwood is looking for its first win over the Nittany Lions since February 23, 2018.
Penn State won both games earlier this season by scores of 2-1 and 3-2, respectively. Burt and Martin each tallied two points in the two-game series in early January.
