Lindenwood men's basketball (11-16, 5-14 GLVC) rallied for a conference win against Illinois Springfield (14-13, 7-12 GLVC), 85-80.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions trailed by as much as 17 points midway through the first half, while never leading in the half, and entering halftime down 40-36. Lindenwood had the game's largest scoring run in the first half, 13-0, to bring the game within four points. The Lions scored 11 points off turnovers in the first 20 minutes to Illinois Springfield's two, while also outscoring the Prairie Stars in the paint, 26-12. Illinois Springfield shot 47.1 percent from deep in the first half, hitting on 8-17 three point shots.
The second half was dominated by the Lions, 49-40, as the team went 7-17 from beyond the three point line. Lindenwood scored 11 points off turnovers and 14 points in the paint. The team had five second chance points, while holding Illinois Springfield to zero second chance scores. In the final 20 minutes, the Lions shot 48.5 percent, and 41.2 percent from deep, while also going 10-13 from the free throw line.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Anthony Christian led all scorers with 20 points. It was the third 20-point performance of Christian's career.
- TJ Crockett was second on the team with 19 points scored. Cameron Scales and Luka Radosevic tallied 16 and 14 points, respectively.
- Radosevic finished with a career-high 14 rebounds, for the first double-double of his career.
- Vijay Blackmon and Kace Kitchel both dished out three assists, which led the team.
- Blackmon and Christian both recorded three steals against Illinois Springfield, which was a game-high.
- Radosevic and Kitchel recorded the only blocks for the Lions.
