The No. 7 Lindenwood wrestling team (6-4, 3-1 GLVC) dominated Bellarmine (3-5, 2-2 GLVC) 35-3 on Thursday night at Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

Carlos Jacquez started off the night with a pin at 3:33 of his 125-pound match, setting the tone for his team. The Lions posted three-consecutive decision victories to take a 15-0 lead. Bellarmine earned its only points of the night at 157 pounds, after a late stalling call against the Lions forced overtime which ended in favor of the Knights.
Austin Stofer had a great battle in his 165-pound bout, but fought through adversity the entire match. With time expiring, Stofer tossed his opponent for the two-point take down to force overtime as the crowd erupted. The Eureka, Mo. native powered his way to a takedown in overtime, earning a 7-5 decision victory.
Abner Romero handled his opponent to earn a 9-1 major decision, extending the Lindenwood lead to 22-3.
In a high-scoring affair,
Elijah Mahan was down 8-5 with 10 seconds remaining. Mahan took down his opponent at the buzzer and earned an extra point for riding time to send the match into overtime. The Bargersville, Ind. native picked up a takedown in overtime to register a 10-8 decision victory.
Jared McKindley held is opponent scoreless before earning a pin at 4:57, adding six points to the team score.
Courvoisier Morrow closed out the night with a strong 9-1 major decision, giving Lindenwood the 35-3 win.
