No. 5 Lindenwood women's lacrosse (8-1, 0-0 GLVC) took down No. 12 East Stroudsburg (4-1, 1-0 PSAC) on Tuesday, 10-8. The Lions have now won four games against ranked opponents this season.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions outshot the Warriors, 24-23, in a game where the Lions led by as many as five points. After trailing early, 2-1, the Lions would regain the lead and go on to score six unanswered points. Heading into halftime, Lindenwood owned a 6-2 lead, and never looked back, winning 10-8. Lindenwood recorded two more saves in the game than East Stroudsburg, while winning nine more draw controls. The Warriors finished with two more ground balls than the Lions, 20-18, while also finishing with two less turnovers, 19-17.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Carly Fedorowski led the team with five goals scored against East Stroudsburg. Fedorowski's five goals was a season-high for the senior.
- Lexy Biller and Hannah Doughty added two goals each, while Erin McGuire scored one goal for the Lions.
- Fedorowski also had a team-high two assists, while McGuire had the team's other assist in the game.
- Emma Wildhart finished with four ground balls, which was tops on the team.
- Shannon Modl and Biller both recorded six draw controls to lead the Lions.
- Fedorowski caused three turnovers, which was a team-high. It matched her highest output of the season for forced turnovers.
- Eleanor Kast made 10 saves while picking up the win. Kast is now 8-1 this season, and has two games with 10 or more saves.
