The Lindenwood women's hockey team (5-24-5) lost 4-0 to Syracuse (14-19-2) on Thursday afternoon in the opening round of the CHA Tournament in Buffalo, N.Y.

GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions fell behind 1-0 in the first period, but
Annika Asplundh kept the Lions in the game with 14 saves. Lindenwood had a power play opportunity early in the period, but failed to convert to keep the game at 1-0. The Lions struggled the gain much momentum on the offensive end, but began to slow down the attack of the Orange. However, Syracuse added another goal in the second period to take a 2-0 lead.

Lindenwood came out in the third period still fighting, as the Lions outshot Syracuse 12-8. The Lions won 16 for the 23 faceoffs in the third period, but could not get a goal past the Orange. Syracuse scored two late goals to solidify a 4-0 win over Lindenwood in the quarterfinal round of the CHA Tournament.
