Women's Hockey Returns to Ice at RIT

The Lindenwood women's hockey team (0-6-0, 0-6-0 CHA) is set to open the 2021 portion of its schedule with a two-game series against RIT (1-4-0, 1-4-0 CHA) in Rochester, N.Y. on Sunday.  Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. ET from Gene Polisseni Center.

The Tigers and Lions met four times a year ago matching up pretty evenly, seeing the Lions pick up two victories, while the Tigers earned one. There was also one tie between the two teams last year, which came in the final matchup of the season.

Sierra Burt tallied six points (2 G, 4 A) in the season series a year ago. The Bayfield, Ontario native leads the team in points with three (1 G, 2 A) through six games played this season.

Lindenwood scored three or more goals six times last season, two of those occasions coming against the Tigers. The Lions posted a record of 4-2-0 in those six games.

Netminder Annika Asplundh picked up her first and second career shutouts against the Tigers last season. The New Hope, Pa. native is having a strong junior campaign in 2020-21, posting a 2.71 goals against average along with a .936 save percentage.
