Women's Volleyball Halted in Comeback Attempt at UIndy

Box Score The Lindenwood women's volleyball team (8-4, 3-1 GLVC) fell in five sets at Indianapolis (7-7, 3-2 GLVC) on Friday.

MATCH OVERVIEW
The Lions were unable to finish off a 2-0 comeback attempt at Indianapolis. The first and second sets finished in similar fashion, 25-22, with UIndy having the advantage in both. In the first set, both teams recorded a hitting percentage of .385 or higher, and 18 or more kills. Lindenwood finished with three total blocks in the first set and one in the second set.

After going down, 2-0, the Lions took the third set by a score of 25-22. The Lions held their opposition to a .170 attack percentage and 14 kills. Lindenwood got off to an early lead on kills from Madilyn Dement and Rebecca Janke, and the team was able to capitalize on errors from the opposing unit. Amber Schade and Allie Otten helped close out the set for the Lions with kills of their own.

The fourth set finished as the widest margin of points, 25-13, in the Lions' favor. Lindenwood hit at a .257 clip and limited the Greyhounds to a .027 attack percentage. The Lions amassed four total blocks and four service aces in the fourth set. Lindenwood capped the set with a 5-0 run, on a kill and a service ace, and three errors by UIndy.

After going up midway through the final set, Lindenwood would be unable to limit a rally from UIndy, falling 15-12. All four of the Lions' losses this season have come in fifth set.
