The Lindenwood football team (5-2, 3-0 GLVC) is returning to Hunter Stadium this weekend to host Southwest Baptist (3-4, 2-1 GLVC) for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff on Saturday in St. Charles, Mo.
The Lions are coming off a big 28-20 road win over UIndy last week. Lindenwood was down 20-7 at the half, but the defense shut out the Greyhounds in the second half to stay undefeated inside GLVC play.
Alex Faddoul made eight catches for 89 yards in the game, as he hauled in passes in key situations.Â
Cade Brister accumulated 244 yards of total offense, including 77 yards on the ground.Â
Grady Daniels led the defense with 13 tackles, while the team tallied five tackles for loss with two sacks.
Brister ranks third in the NCAA Division II with a 70.9 completion percentage, while his seven rushing touchdowns rank in the top-20 in the country.Â
Drew Seers has compiled 10.4 tackles per contest, which sits at 12th in the nation.
Lindenwood took down the Bearcats in the most recent meeting in 2019. The Lions left Bolivar, Mo. with a 42-10 win, claiming the GLVC Championship outright.Â
Nash Sutherlin ran wild, as he accumulated 231 yards and three scores on 22 rushes.Â
Tayvian Weary was a menace on the defensive line, as the registered four tackles for loss, three sacks, and two forced fumbles.
Southwest Baptist enters the game with a two-game winning streak, which includes a 27-21 win over Truman State last week. The Bearcats are led by Cooper Callis who has 2,343 yards passing with 21 touchdowns and just three interceptions. Callis spread the ball around to different receivers all season. Southwest Baptist has eight different receivers with at least one touchdown, while three players have over 500 yards through the air.
