The Lindenwood men's soccer team (4-4-0, 4-3-0 GLVC) earned its fourth-consecutive win by picking up a 3-0 win over Rockhurst (4-5-1, 3-2-1 GLVC) on Sunday afternoon from Kansas City, Mo.
MATCH OVERVIEW
Lindenwood made the most of its opportunities in the opening half as the Lions netted a pair of goals on six shot attempts. The first score came in the 15th minute when
Gabriel Miranda dribbled down the right side of the field and found
Joshua Scholl who did the rest.
Just three minutes later, the Lions would get on the scoreboard again as
Cooper Wilson found the bottom right corner of the net, giving Lindenwood a 2-0 lead 18 minutes into the match. After the early goals, both teams would settle in defensively, with the Lions taking a 2-0 lead into the halftime break.
The Lions defense was strong in the second half, not allowing a single Rockhurst shot across the first 28 minutes of second half action. Lindenwood extended its lead to 3-0 in the 69th minute when
Parkin Harape found the back of the net from a direct free kick just outside the box.
Lindenwood held onto its lead for the remainder of the game, earning a 3-0 win. The Lions have now won four-consecutive games with three out of the four victories coming via shutout.
