The Lindenwood women's soccer team (4-11-1, 4-9-2) fell by a score of 1-0 on the final day of the regular season to Southern Indiana (10-5-2, 8-5-1 GLVC) on Senior Day from Hunter Stadium.
MATCH OVERVIEW
The two teams were evenly matched across the opening 45 minutes, as each team compiled seven shots. The Lions put two on frame, while the Screaming Eagles registered three. The best chance for Lindenwood came in the 33rd minute, but the USI goalkeeper stopped a
Bailey Bologna shot. Lindenwood recorded three corners in the opening half, while USI managed just one.
The game entered halftime scoreless.
Southern Indiana got on the scoreboard early in the second half, finding the back of the net in the 47th minute of the match, taking a 1-0 lead.
The half continued with USI in the lead, but Lindenwood pushed for the game-tying goal throughout. The Lions managed two late corner kicks and a free kick that was sent into the box with time winding down, but they were unable to capitalize.
Southern Indiana picked up the 1-0 victory. Â
