The Lindenwood women's basketball team (0-2, 0-0 GLVC) was tripped up on the road at Malone (2-0, 0-0 G-MAC) on Saturday.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions shot 53.2 percent from the field, and 41.7 percent from deep, in the loss. Turnovers were once again the story for Lindenwood, as the team accumulated 20 as a team, while forcing just 10 Malone turnovers.
After the first quarter of the game, the Lions were even with the Pioneers, 17-17. A three-pointer from
Mary McGrath on a
Gracie Neff assist with 28 seconds left in the opening period squared up the score. The Malone offense exploded for 26 second quarter points while limiting Lindenwood to 16 points in the second.
The second half witnessed Malone continue to pull away, as the Lions were unable to contain the Pioneer offense. Lindenwood scored 18 points in the third quarter, aided by eight points from
Julia Ruzevich. The team was outscored in the second half, 45-36, in the 88-69 loss on the road to Malone.
