The Lindenwood football team (9-3) lost 20-3 to No. 5 Grand Valley State (10-1) in the first round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs on Saturday in Allendale, Mich.

GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions were outstanding on the defensive end, but struggled to get the ball moving on the offensive side against a tough Grand Valley defense. Lindenwood was down 10-0 after the first quarter, but held on to keep it a 10-point game at the half. The two squads matched field goals in the third quarter, as the Lions were down by just two possessions heading into the final 15 minutes. The Lakers scored early in the fourth, and the climb was too much to overcome for the Lions.
Â
Kai Ross led the Lions with 16 tackles, while
Grady Daniels and
Drew Seers each registered 13 stops in the game. As a defense, Lindenwood compiled 13 tackles for loss and four quarterback hurries. The Lions held the ball for nearly 21 minutes, while Grand Valley secured possession for more than 39 minutes of game clock.
