The Lindenwood women's basketball team (0-3, 0-0 GLVC) hits the road to take on another MIAA opponent in Pittsburg State (2-1, 0-0 MIAA) on Wednesday, November 24, beginning at 5:30 p.m. from Pittsburg, Kan.
Lindenwood is coming off of a 103-102 Double-Overtime loss in its home opener to Emporia State. The 102 points are the most scored by the team since a 103-74 win over McKendree on January 30, 2020.
In the loss, the Lions were led offensively by
Julia Ruzevich and
Ellen McCorkle who both recorded double-doubles. Ruzevich, a graduate guard tied a career-high, notching 29 points, while grabbing 16 rebounds, which matched a career-best. The Orland Park, Ill. native filled the stat sheet dishing out five assists, while recording three steals and two blocks. Ruzevich leads the team in points-per game (20.3) and rebounds (8.7) through three games this season.

McCorkle registered 22 points and 12 rebounds against the Hornets, both season-highs. The Oregon, Wis. native finished the night 7-13 from the floor and 8-11 from the charity stripe.

Devin Fuhring provided a spark off the bench for the Lions compiling 16 points on 6-12 from the floor in 31 minutes of action. The St. James, Mo. native also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out for assists.
Hennessey Handy was the other Lindenwood player in double figures with 12 points.

Pittsburg State sits at 2-1 on the early season and is coming off of a 99-57 win over Saint Mary in its home opener on November 18. The Gorillas are led by Tristan Gegg who is averaging a team-leading 23.0 points per contest through three games played.

The Lions will be looking for their fourth-consecutive win over the Pitt State as Lindenwood has won the last three matchups dating back to 2019.
