The Lindenwood men's basketball team (4-1, 0-0 GLVC) will open GLVC play on Monday, as the Lions host Maryville (5-1, 0-0 GLVC) at 7:30 p.m. inside Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
Both squads are on a four-game winning streak heading into the first conference matchup. Lindenwood is 3-1 at home this season, including a 10-point victory last week over Westminster. The Lions have been led by
Jacoby Ross and
Romelo Burrell, as the pair combine for more than half of the team's points this year.
Ross is averaging 22.6 points per game, while shooting 55.6 percent from the field. The New Orleans, La. native has knocked down 12 three pointers, which leads the team. Burrell is posting an average of 20.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per contest, as he has three double-doubles through five games.
As a team, the Lions are shooting 79.6 percent from the free-throw line, as Burrell is leading the way by going 43-for-48 at the charity stripe.Â
Kevin Caldwell Jr. has dished out 21 assists, while Burrell (15) and Ross (13) have tallied double-digit assists this season.
The Saints come into Monday's matchup with a pair of wins over MIAA schools in the past 10 days. Maryville is led by Ari Jackson who is averaging 12.5 points per game, while former Lion
Cameron Scales is posting 11.6 points per contest. Scales is leading the Saints with 5.8 rebounds per game, along with 10 steals on the defensive end.
