Women's Hockey Heads to Penn State This Weekend

The Lindenwood women's hockey team (1-7-0, 1-1-0 CHA) hits the road for a two-game series against Penn State (4-4-2, 1-1-0 CHA), Puck drop in game one is set for 6:00 p.m. ET, while game two is slated for 2:00 p.m. ET, all from Pegula Ice Arena in University Park, Pa.

Lindenwood was idle last weekend after going 1-1-0 against Syracuse on November 22 and 23 from Centene Community Ice Center. The Lions picked up a 5-3 win over the Orange in game two of the series.

In the win, eight different Lindenwood players registered points, led by Rachel Goff and Morgan Neitzke who had two each. Goff, (2 G) netted the game-winning goal late in the third period, while Morgan Neitzke (1 G, 1 A) sealed the victory, by finding the empty net.
 
Penn State holds a 22-16-6 advantage since the two teams began play in 2010. The Lions and Nittany Lions played to a 2-2 tie on January 30 of last season.
 
In that game, both goals for Lindenwood came on the powerplay, including one by Sierra Burt. Through eight games this season, the Bayfield, Ontario native is tied for the team lead in points with six, while she's tops on the team in assists with five.
 
Lindenwood will be looking for its first win over Penn State since February 23, 2018, a 1-0 shutout win on the road.
