The Lindenwood women's volleyball team (14-12, 7-8 GLVC) ended the home portion of the season with a 3-0 loss to Missouri-St. Louis (20-7, 13-3 GLVC) on Tuesday.
MATCH OVERVIEW
Lindenwood tallied 17 kills in the opening set, the most for the Lions in any of the three sets. In the opener, the team out-killed the opposition, 17-14. In total for the match, Lindenwood tallied two more aces than the Tritons. The team, however, finished with fewer kills, blocks, assists, and digs.
The first two sets were decided by three and two points, respectively. Lindenwood was able to contain the explosiveness of the Missouri-St. Louis in set one and two, not allowing UMSL to extend a large lead. The third set, however, saw the momentum favor the Tritons as they took a resounding nine-point victory to seal the sweep. The Lions recorded 10 or more kills in all three of the sets.
After beginning the season 6-0 at home, the Lions dropped three-straight to conclude the home portion of the 2021schedule. Dating back to 2020, Lindenwood is 12-5 at contests played in the Hyland Arena.
