The Lindenwood women's basketball team (4-5, 2-1 GLVC) cruised past Christian Brothers (2-7, 1-2 GSU), 99-51 on Wednesday night from Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood fell behind early in the game but managed to find its offensive gear. After trailing 8-2 at the 7:30 mark of the first quarter, the Lions went on a 29-13 run, sparked by a pair of threes by
Alana Striverson and 12 points by
Julia Ruzevich. Lindenwood took a 31-18 lead after 10 minutes of play. In the second quarter, CBU changed up their defensive looks, but the Lions were able to maintain a comfortable lead as the score was 47-30 at halftime.
Lindenwood outscored the Buccaneers 30-11 in the third quarter, extending the lead. The Lions shot 10-14 in the third frame, including 5-7 from three point range.
Ellen McCorkle had seven points in the quarter, while
Emily Benzschawel knocked down a pair of three pointers as the Lions took a commanding 77-41 lead after 30 minutes of play. Lindenwood continued the strong play into the fourth quarter outscoring CBU 22-10 on the way to the victory by a final score of 99-51.
