The Lindenwood men's basketball team (5-2, 1-1 GLVC) is set to host Missouri-St. Louis (5-2, 0-1 GLVC) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. inside Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
The Lions are coming off its second-consecutive overtime game, as Lindenwood took down Quincy by a final of 91-87 on Thursday night. As the Lions were down by two points with no time left on the clock,
Brandon Trimble knocked down both his free throws to send the game into overtime. Lindenwood was solid at the charity stripe in the overtime period, as the Lions went 7-of-8, including five from
Romelo Burrell.
The Lions are led offensively by
Jacoby Ross, Burrell, and
Kevin Caldwell Jr. The trio is combining for more than 66 percent of the team's point total, as Ross leads the way with 23.4 points per game. Burrell is posting 19.3 points with a team-high 8.1 boards per contest. Caldwell Jr. is contributing 12.4 points per game, while dishing out a team-leading 28 assists.
Trimble has been hot from the three-point line, as the St. Joseph, Ill. native is shooting 58.3 percent (14-for-24) from deep range.Â
Brandon Suggs is averaging 7.7 points with 7.1 rebounds per game, as he is also tied with Burrell for the team lead in blocks with 11.
Missouri-St. Louis comes into Saturday's game with a 5-2 record, including a pair of losses to nationally-ranked teams. The Tritons recently lost to Truman State on Thursday on a last-second shot in overtime.
