The Lindenwood men's basketball team (5-6, 1-2 GLVC) will get back to the court on Sunday, as the Lions open the New Year with a 3:00 p.m. tip-off against No. 19 Truman State in Kirksville, Mo.

The Lions will jump back into conference play, after posting a 1-2 record in GLVC contests during the 2021 portion of the season.  The lone win in league play came on a 91-87 victory over Quincy in early December.  Lindenwood is coming off a pair of losses in Las Vegas, Nev., which included a loss to No. 4 West Texas A&M to close out the calendar year.

Offensively, the Lions are led by Jacoby Ross who is averaging 20.5 points per game on 48.8 percent shooting from the field.  Romelo Burrell is posting 16.8 points per contest, with a team-leading 7.5 rebounds per game. 

Brandon Suggs is second on the team with 7.1 rebounds per night, while adding 16 blocks on the defensive end.  Kevin Caldwell Jr. has contributed in all areas of the game, as he is scoring 13.6 points per game, grabbing 4.3 rebounds per game, and has compiled a team-best 34 assists.

Lindenwood will look to avenge its loss to the Bulldogs from a year ago, when Truman State was ranked No. 18 in the country.  Truman State shot 52.8 percent from the field in the game, while the Lions shot just 34.7 percent in the 13-point loss.

Sunday's road game will be the first of six in the month of January for the Lions.  Lindenwood and Truman State are set to meet again on January 22.
