The No. 2 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team (11-0, 6-0 GLVC) defeated No. 1 UIndy (11-1, 5-1 GLVC) by a score of 12-10 on Thursday afternoon from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.
GAME OVERVIEW
The game was tightly contested throughout, seeing each team trade goals early. UIndy carried a 4-3 advantage with 12:25 left in the half, but Lindenwood went on a scoring run, netting the next five goals, which helped it take a 8-5 lead into halftime. Two of the goals came from
Emma Arnold, who scored a game-high six. In the half, Lindenwood compiled 15 shots and scooped up 11 ground balls.
UIndy made a push to start the second half, finding the back of the net three-straight times to tie the game at 8-8. Arnold scored three out of the next four Lindenwood goals, helping secure a 12-10 win. Lindenwood scooped up 10 ground balls in the second half and
Eleanor Kast made six saves, including some big ones down the stretch.
