The No. 10 Lindenwood baseball team (21-4, 17-4 GLVC) used a big fifth inning to earn a 13-2 win over Southern Indiana on Friday at Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
 
GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood jumped on the board in the first inning as Mitchell Krebs drove in a run on a triple down the right field line to open the scoring.  Krebs later scored on a throwing error when Southern Indiana made a pickoff attempt.  The Screaming Eagles got one run back in the top of the second, but Tyler Cassmeyer settled in and pitched a quality game for the Lions.
 
Kolby Schulte increased the lead back to two runs, after he scored on a sacrifice fly by Bryce Beckmann in the bottom of the third inning.  Schulte hit a double to right center in the fourth inning, to make it a 4-1 lead in favor of Lindenwood.  The Lions opened the flood gates in the fifth inning, as they compiled nine hits in that frame.  In all, the Lions scored eight runs, including a two-RBI single by Schulte.  Lindenwood picked up another run in the sixth, and cruised to a 13-2 victory in the first game of the series.
