No. 10 Baseball Splits Doubleheader on Saturday

The No. 10 Lindenwood baseball team (25-6, 21-6 GLVC) split its doubleheader with Maryville on Saturday from St. Louis, Mo., winning the first game 13-4, while dropping the second game  by a 6-3 final score
 
GAME ONE OVERVIEW
The Lions exploded for six runs in the third inning, capped off by a Beau Collier two-run shot. Lindenwood tacked on three more runs in the fourth, including an RBI single from Mitchell Krebs., making the score 9-0 after four innings of play. Lindenwood extended its lead in the sixth as Calvin Nowak homered to left, making the Lion lead 12-0.

Blake Beckmann threw 5.2 solid innings surrendering four hits and two earned runs, while striking out three on the way to his fifth win of the season.

GAME TWO OVERVIW
Lindenwood jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead after scoring a pair of runs in the third inning.  Bryce Beckmann used his speed, legging out an RBI triple, bringing in Austin Schmitt. Will Lanxon kept the line moving, driving in Beckmann with an RBI infield single. Maryville answered right back with a pair of runs of its own in the fourth, tying the game at 2-2 after four innings of play.

Bryce Beckmann broke the tie in the fifth with a solo shot to left field, giving the Lions a 3-2 lead. The Saints scored the final four runs of the game to salvage one game of the doubleheader.
