No. 11 Men's Lacrosse Drops Close Contest to No. 10 UIndy

The No. 11 Lindenwood men's lacrosse team (10-3, 9-2 GLVC) suffered a tough 10-9 loss to UIndy (10-2, 8-2 GLVC) on Saturday night in the GLVC Championship final from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.

GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood scored the opening two goals of the game, but UIndy battled back, netting the next two goals.  Each team continued to trade goals, as Lindenwood held a 6-5 edge on the scoreboard heading into halftime. Carter Collins led the Lions offensively, netting a hat trick in the opening half.  Despite the close score, Lindenwood controlled the first 30 minutes of play, outshooting the Greyhounds 32-14, while winning 11-of-13 faceoffs.

The two teams tightened up defensively in the third quarter, combing for just two total goals during the 15 minutes of play.  UIndy came out strong in the final quarter, scoring the first three goals of the period, giving them a two-goal advantage.  The Lions kept fighting, but ran out of time, falling 10-9.  In the game. Lindenwood outshot UIndy 57-32, while scooping up 40 ground balls to the Greyhounds 18.

- Jony Major won 15-23 faceoffs.
- Major also scooped up 10 ground balls, a game-high.
