The Lindenwood men's soccer team (2-4-0, 2-3-0 GLVC) picked up a 2-0 win over Truman State (0-7-0, 0-5-0 GLVC) on Sunday afternoon from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.
MATCH OVERVIEW
The Lions pounced on the Bulldogs early, as Lindenwood found the back of the net in the 12th minute when
Santiago Rodriguez dribbled around the Truman State goalkeeper, crossed the ball into the box and
Gabriel Miranda tapped it in, giving the Lions a 1-0 lead.
After the early goal, both teams settled in on the defensive side of the ball, registering just six shots, including three on goal. In the half, Lindenwood compiled six shots, two on frame, while recording the only three corner kicks in the opening half. The Lions would take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Lindenwood kept up the pressure to begin the second half as the Lions recorded two of the first three shots in the second 45 minutes of play. The Lions would find themselves down a man after picking up a red card in the 60th minute. Shortly after,
Feho Sabotic would find the back of the net as he worked his way through the Bulldogs defense, extending the Lindenwood lead to 2-0.
Lindenwood would see the rest of the game out and earn its second-consecutive victory.
