The Lindenwood women's hockey team (0-2-0, 0-0-0 CHA) hits the road for a two-game series against St. Cloud State (0-0-0, 0-0-0 WCHA) Puck drop on Friday is scheduled for 6:07 p.m. from Herb Brooks National Hockey Center in St. Cloud, Minn. Game two is set for 2:07 p.m.
Lindenwood dropped the first two games of its season last weekend against No. 1 Wisconsin by scores of 8-1 and 10-0 respectively.
Megan Wagner scored the lone goal for Lindenwood over the weekend, while
Valerie Caldwell added an assist on the tally, her first point as a Lion.
The Lions will be on the road for the first time this season. A year ago, Lindenwood picked up two wins away from Centene Community Ice Center, a two-game sweep of RIT in January.
The Lions and Huskies have matched up a total of 15 times with St, Cloud holding an 11-2-2 edge in the series. The two teams last met during the 2019-20 season where St. Cloud defeated the Lions in two out of the three meeting, with the lone exception being a 2-2 tie on November 15, 2019.
In the two-game series back in 2019, Wagner registered two points (1 G, 1 A). The Niles, Ill. native is tied for the team lead in points this season with one through two games played.
Gigi Pora also found the back of the net in that series with the Huskies. The junior forward has six career points (3 G, 3 A) across 53 games played.
Lindenwood has scored a total of 21 goals in the series history, or an average of 1.4 goals per game. The Lions found the back of the net five times in a 5-3 win on October 11, 2014.
