The Lindenwood football team (2-2) will head to Kirksville, Mo. to take on No. 18 Truman State (4-0) on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.

The Lions enter the game on a two-game winning streak, after averaging 42.0 points in that span.  Lindenwood took down Findlay 28-16 on the road last week, as the defense held the Oilers to just three points in the first half.

Robert Giaimo led the rushing attack with 105 yards and one score on 15 attempts.  Cade Brister was efficient in the passing game, as he was 23-for-28 and compiled 253 yards with two scores through the air. Alex Faddoul tallied 85 yards and one score on six catches, as he made a key grab late in the game to secure the road win.

In 2019, the Lions ousted then-No. 24 Truman State on homecoming, after a miraculous comeback in the final minutes of the game.  Lindenwood scored with less than two minutes remaining in the game to bring the deficit within three points.  After recovering a perfectly executed onside kick, Brister found Erik Henneman in the back of the end zone to secure the 28-24 victory.  The Bulldogs finished the season with a record of 10-2, as their only two losses came to playoff teams in Lindenwood and UIndy.

The Bulldogs are 4-0 on the year, and jumped in the rankings for the first time this season at No. 18 (AFCA) and No. 22 (D2Football. com).  Truman State earned two wins over GLIAC teams, and two more wins over GMAC schools through the first four weeks of the 2021 season.  The Bulldogs are averaging 33.5 points per game so far this year, led by Cody Schrader who has tallied eight touchdowns and 634 yards on the ground.

This will be the third meeting between the two schools.  Lindenwood holds a 2-0 lead in the series, with a 38-13 win in 2012, and a 28-24 win in 2019.
