The Lindenwood men's basketball team (6-9, 2-5 GLVC) nearly completed the comeback on Monday night in a 76-68 loss to Lewis in Romeoville, Ill.

GAME OVERVIEW
The Flyers started fast and built a 9-2 lead in the first couple of minutes on Monday.Â
Romelo Burrell went to work and put the Lions up 11-9 after he scored one three-straight possessions. Lewis found its groove and went on a run later in the half, taking a 42-25 lead at the break. The Flyers were 6-of-12 from behind the arc in the first 20 minutes of play.

Lewis continued to stay hot on both ends of the court, as the Flyers held a 61-40 lead at the 8:15 mark. Lindenwood continued to battle, as
Jacoby Ross and
Brandon Trimble registered buckets to cut the deficit to 15 points in just two minutes. Less than a minute later,
Trent Champagne hit a three pointer from a turnover to make it a 61-49 Lewis lead with 5:29 remaining. Ross cut the deficit to single digits with 2:27 to play after draining a shot from behind the arc. Lindenwood brought the game within five points and two minutes to go, but the Flyers held strong for the eight-point win.

Kyle Gerdeman. "But, I was very glad to see us continue to compete and make it a game late after digging an early hole. If we continue to improve and stay together the way we have the last two games, we will find ourselves in a good position every night."
