Burrell Tallies Double-Double in Men's Basketball Loss to No. 19 Truman State

The Lindenwood men's basketball team (5-7, 1-3 GLVC) dropped its league contest with No. 19 Truman State (9-2, 3-0 GLVC) by a final of 74-56 on Sunday in Kirksville, Mo.

GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions and Bulldogs played an even game for the first 10 minutes of the opening half.  Truman State looked as if they would pull away at the halfway point, after the Bulldogs took a seven-point lead.  Lindenwood quickly got back in the game and pulled within one point at the 3:41 mark.

Jacoby Ross gave the Lions a 27-25 lead with less than three minutes to go in the first half.  The two squads traded three-point shots in the final couple of minutes, but Truman State held a 33-31 lead heading into the break.  Ross led all scorers at the half, as he posted 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting from the field.

The Bulldogs wasted no time generating offense, as they scored on their first five possessions to take an 11-point lead.  Ross stayed hot from behind the arc, after his three-point bucket at the 14:29 mark brought the deficit to 50-45.  The Lions offense struggled to keep momentum, and the Bulldogs built a strong double-digit lead to earn a 74-56 win to start the New Year.  Romelo Burrell posted his fourth double-double of the season on Sunday, as he added three assists and three steals.
