The Lindenwood women's basketball team (8-7, 5-3 GLVC) will travel to Southwest Baptist University (10-8, 5-5 GLVC) on Thursday for a 5:30 p.m. tip off in Bolivar, Mo.
Lindenwood is coming off a tough loss to Truman State (9-1 GLVC), who came out on top with a 10-point win on Saturday in Hyland Arena. The Lions held their own until the head-to-head battle tilted towards the Bulldogs in the fourth quarter.
Julia Ruzevich is still on top for the Lions in most categories, truly making the most of her 34.7 minutes of average playing time per game. The 6-1 guard's rebounding game continues to improve, as she leads the team with 65 offensive and 102 defensive rebounds. With 21 blocks and 27 steals, Ruzevich has proven to be a tough matchup on either end of the court.
Ellen McCorkle continues to be a key cog in the team both offensively and defensively as well, consistently proving to be a threat on both sides of the court. Against the Bulldogs, McCorkle had a solid stat line, putting up nine points, 11 rebounds, three blocks, two steals, and one assist. The senior now leads the team with her .500 field goal percentage, and has the second-highest minutes on the team behind Ruzevich.
Devin Fuhring is hot on McCorkle's heels in terms of minutes played, clocking an average of 29.0 minutes per game. Fuhring is also leading the team with an impressive 22 three-pointers, proving to be an offensive threat from anywhere behind the arc.
Gracie Neff leads the Lions with a stellar 74 assists, continuing to be a presence on the court in her sophomore season.
Hennessey Handy and
Mary McGrath also have regularly been contributing to the flow of the game, looking to help the team in whatever ways they can.
After its matchup with the Bearcats, Lindenwood will be heading to Kansas City, Mo. for another GLVC matchup against Rockhurst University at 1:00 p.m.
