The Lindenwood men's volleyball team (0-2) dropped three sets to Stanford (2-0) on Thursday night in Stanford, Calif.

OVERVIEW
The Lions and Cardinal stayed even for the entirety of the opening set, as the first frame saw 21 ties and a total of 53 points. After being down 9-8,
Diego Negron sparked a rally with back-to-back kills.Â
Connor Sheehan followed up with an ace to put Lindenwood in front 11-9. The Lions later posted a run of three-straight points to take a 22-20 advantage. Lindenwood extended the set twice before Stanford came out with the 28-26 win.

The Cardinal found their rhythm halfway through the second set and rolled to a 25-16 win in the second set. In the third set, Lindenwood took an early lead with the help of two service aces by
Hunter Bailey. Later in the set, the Lions were up 13-10, but couldn't shake the Cardinal. Stanford took momentum and didn't look back after taking a 15-14 lead. The Lions battled to the end, however, the Cardinal closed out the match with a 25-22 win in the final set.

Negron and
A.J. Lewis led the squad with eight kills each, while Negron added three blocks.Â
Alex Pappas tallied four kills on six attacks, as he and Lewis each contributed two blocks on the night. In all, the match saw 34 ties and 12 lead changes, while the Lions had a 4-3 advantage in service aces.
