The Lindenwood football squad (3-2, 0-2 OVC) will head to Charleston, Ill. on Saturday to take on Eastern Illinois (2-3, 1-0 OVC) in a non-conference matchup at 2:00 p.m.
 
The Lions are coming off a thrilling 52-49 shootout win over Central Arkansas this past weekend.  Senior quarterback Cade Brister tied a career-high with five rushing touchdowns, earning himself another OVC Offensive Player of the Week award.  Brister was also acknowledged as the FedEx Ground FCS Honorable Mention National Player of the Week.  The O'Fallon, Mo. native put up 475 yards of total offense with seven total touchdowns.  Brister tied the OVC single-game record with his five rushing scores, the first time since 2014.
 
Payton Rose set a new school mark on Saturday, as his first reception of the game put him in the top spot for career catches at Lindenwood.  Rose is less than 100 yards away, and five touchdown receptions away from claiming the three major categories for a receiver in Lindenwood football history.
 
Lindenwood earned its second win over a NCAA Division I program this season, marking its third victory on the year.  While Lindenwood and Eastern Illinois are both members of the Ohio Valley Conference, this weekend's meeting will not count in the OVC standings.
 
The Lions are leading the league in total offense, with nearly 500 yards of offense per game.  Lindenwood is atop the OVC with 340.2 passing yards per game, the only league team over the 300 yard mark.  Rose leads all conference receivers with 107.8 yards per game, the only player in the OVC over the century mark.
 
With his 413 passing yards on Saturday, Brister joined UTM's Dresser Winn as they are the only two quarterbacks in the league with over 400 yards passing in a game this season. Currently, the OVC is the only conference with two players eclipsing the 400-yard passing in at least on game this year.
