The Lindenwood women's soccer team (5-7-4, 2-2-3 OVC) dropped its match on senior day by a score of 1-0 to Morehead State (7-4-3, 4-0-2 OVC) on Sunday afternoon from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.
GAME OVERVIEW
The defense was strong early for both teams, allowing a combined four shots across the first 20 minutes of play.
Lauren Tyson and
Faith Montandon had a good scoring chance for the Lions in the opening half but their shots went just wide. Morehead State settled into the game, but the Lindenwood defense continued to hold, seeing
Sam Blazek stop all seven shots against. The game would head into halftime scoreless.
The Lions earned three early corner kicks to begin the second half, but were unable to convert, as the game remained scoreless. That was until the 88th minute, as Lindenwood was playing with 10 when the Eagles took a late lead and was able to hold on for the 1-0 victory.
